They could well offer reliable data at a small subscription fee and offer integration with other programming languages like python, but I do not thing they will do it. TWS works on macOS but IB does not want do anything about their unreliable data and people does not want to code anything in Java. Sierra Charts is working on something to port SC to other OS, but it is a log term project and there is no time frame for that, unfortunately. For Linux unfortunately there is not a viable and stable solution for trading as for the time being. If you want to get rid of TS then your best alternative is MultiCharts and if you need data feed IQ Feed If you want to get rid of Windows then it seems like Investor/RT running on macOS, and you can use Investor/RT with IQ Feed and use studies coded in C++ as well. Windows fucked me big time last year I even got in depression for that. I use the 9.1 because it is the version that I am used to and as far as I know is more stable than the current release.Īnother reason to dislike and distrust Windows, alko I have been looking for alternatives for some time and unfortunately there are not many due to Windows monopoly and also due to trading software developers do not "care" about others OS. Well I use TS 9.1 and I did not have this problem until now.
